Faded Love

     

Under the  Orange   colored  sky, the sun  kissing the horizon where a young couple with smiles  and  laughter  were merry making  at the beach with the milky waves. 

Secretly, slowly they felt romantic as the sky turned more grey where moonlit was peeping at these lovers by hiding among the branches of a big tree. Their world filled with sweet hugs, unbreakable promises painted with multi- colored dreams. Their cameras shuttered each and every  romantic moments, unknowing the reality that their snapshots only will be left in their souls. 

   " Will you be my bride ", with this voice heard the sky started to thunder as to crack the clouds and it started to pour down heavily, as to disturb this lovely and romantic couple. Feeling sad under the bad weather the couple left the sandy shore leaving their footprints to be added to the historic love tales..

  Christina, whose eyes were not in the present but in the past moment with a blank mood gazes at the empty dull sky where no single star lit up on the sky, only the black carpet surrounded with lonely thoughts. Moonlit missing where it was grabbed by the dark clouds. Leaving the window open without thinking about the mosquitoes, Christina sat on the bed with wounded heart, she felt like she has lost many pounds with the loss of her lover. Beside her laid their memories," The Photo Album."

  Carefully, she glanced at every photo with tears rolling down the cheeks. Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her chest and she rested her eyes and head on her burning pillow, which was like an active volcano. 

 " Hello! Christina ( sobbing ) I know you will be speechless and go mad. I am so sorry to break this to you. Anyway, I cannot hide this news from you. Kasun.....p..a..ss..e..d.. away last night in his sleep."

  These words made ringing in her mind. It was six months back the demise of Christina's lover, but every moment she rests her eyes and on her " burning " pillow each and every word of that heart breaking news makes her alarm.

    Christina who was born  to a silver spoon with Sinhala Christian background never insulted anyday her lover Kasun, who was born to a middle class family with Sinhala Buddhist background. Not only that but also it never mattered for their love.

   Christina's parents who were always worried about Christina as she was their only daughter and their only child brought many marriage proposals from many rich families. Christina never showed any interested towards them and never uttered any word about them. She was unable to stab the lovely memories of her and her lover.

   Afetr three months of demise of Kasun, a news spread faster that Kasun had corona but none of the symptoms had shown and in midnight he was unable to drop down his breath and it had blocked his airway. As a consequence of it he had closed his eyes forever, leaving Christina as a solitary girl to this world. This news had gone to the ears of Christina and it made her more shocked and it made worse when that heart breaking news went viral in Facebook and Instagram. Not only that it made most worst when Christina's friends started to text and call her by asking over and over again. 

  As a result of it, no sooner Christina became a depression patient. She could not control her emotions and feelings. She started to look that photos of her and her lover started to laugh loudly and also she started to walk down the streets where her parents could not stop walking and blaming at couples who are in love. She walked and waked until the sea shore met her and she started to pick stones and hit them and couples who were in love. Disturbed by her unusual behaviour some couples started to complain even at police stations. 

  Christina's parents who were unable to see this unusual behaviour got shocked and they became victims. Though Christina was prescribed several medicines, she rejected to take them by scornfully blaming at her parents. Whole family started to suffer with this Christina's unusual behaviour. 

   Later, in the newspaper with big letters printed "BEAUTIFUL SOULS BID GOODBYE UNDER THE SKY OF CORONA." The middle of this headline revealed that Christina who was suffering from depression with the sudden demise of her lover had suicide by stabbing herself with a sharp knife and further it revealed that she had kept a note for her parents not to shed any single tear, and she is in the word of her lover.
