Exam Fever

I am a bundle of nerves whenever I meet her!

She puts a lot of pressure on me to read the same subject again and again in the name of revision.

I simply can't do enough to satisfy her as her benchmark for success has risen with each passing year.

Few years ago, after completing my studies I was happy to finally bid her goodbye till she showed up once again in my life after my children were enrolled in a school.

She looked at me with her bifocal glasses and handed me the syllabus as she instructed me to prepare my kids for their forthcoming exams.

I thought that teaching would be easier than studying but I was wrong!

My kids were not interested in studies as they neither loved rote learning nor they wanted to stop doing their favourite activities like playing video games or watching television.

In the end I had an exam fever as I convinced myself that they must have studied in their class as there were no distractions there in the form of gadgets.

I believe that my bond with exams is very strong and I know that she will never allow to enjoy my freedom for too long as life is a series of exams and she first gives us test and then we learn our lessons unlike in school.
