Doesn't matter!

Doesn't matter!

Well, I am a CEO of Rockburn company and we provide different type of tech solutions. This company was my dad's dream and he worked day-night to establish it. He successfully made it and he passed it to me.

I am a regular boss who doesn't give his employees increments easily, neither offer them a foreign trip and make them work day and night to make the company grow. Yeah, I am admitting it and honestly it " doesn't matter to me".

I am not a "nepo kid". The story starts 5 years ago when I joined the company as a managing director. My father never wanted me to give his position just because I was his son but wanted me to prove it through my academics, leadership, hard work, perseverance and blah blah blah... So, I decided to give it my level best to make it. I did my engineering in cse through a renowned government college. Later on, I completed my MBA and did job in a MNC for 4 years.

When I was in job, I could connect with the employees emotions and thought that when become the boss I would surely make my employees happy.

Finally, when I started running the business, I got a hack to know the employee emotions in detail. Our team members used to party on saturday's in a pub. I used to cover my face, wear informal dress, wear a goggle and go there to listen their opinions about the company.

The first time when I went there, I heard that they wanted a foreign trip from the company. I thought this will boost their moral and make them happy so after 4-5 days I gave them a trip to France. They were happy. After this was fulfilled, the other month I went again to the pub. This time they demanded of increment and promotion. The other day I analyzed and being a good boss I gave increments and promotions to the deserved one. They were happy again.

After, few days I went again and this time I heard that they wanted holidays on saturday and a free movie booking for all of them atleast once in a month. Now, slowly I was getting agitated by their demands but I fulfilled it just to make them happy and for my good image.

It was year end and our profit drastically fell but I didn't care much thinking atleast I am a good boss. The evening, I went again to the pub and this time I was in shock. I heard

" Our CEO is a nepo kid and doesn't know to run the company. It often happens with these 2nd generation business kids. Our company is going in loss. We should apply for job in other companies also and resign here"...

The day onwards I decided, it is just a foolish act to make XYZ happy. It is better to make yourself happy. The next year, we saw exponential growth in the company and then after I never visited the pub.

Experiences create bitter truths of life and are more powerful than wisdom. In the present time, I am an ordinary boss with unordinary experience. I do what is good for me. And for others, hmmm..."It doesn't matter to me !"
