The Case That Left Clueless!!!

Hi, I am Sylvi and I am an average advocate. I am practicing since last 20 years. To be frankly speaking, I am very fed up with my job but whenever I think of quitting it, I make myself realize that mesmerizing case of my profession. Let’s take the taste and fragrance of it once again.

It was raining outside and I just started practicing. Having a coffee mug in my hand and enjoying the season, I saw a man approaching towards my office. He was tall, wearing black coat and was having an umbrella in his hand. He met me and told that he wanted to file a case against money fraud. 

{CONVERSATION BETWEEN SYLVI AND ROBERT}

Sylvi - Ok Robert , first tell me about yourself and your family.

Robert - So, I own a business and we work in providing different types of services. I love hearing suspense audio books, try to modify myself every day from my handwriting to my business knowledge expertise. When time comes, I am a truth speaking person. I have a wife and one daughter.

Sylvi - Robert, what type of fraud happened and who all were involved.

Robert – I was told told to invest money in their firm and it would have been returned with an interest rate of 30%. Bill and Tom were the major ones who were involved in most of the transactions and communication.

Sylvi - Oh, do you have their id proofs, contact details or anything related to them.

Robert - Yes . 

[Robert gives me their contact number and papers that were signed during this investment and returns promise.]

Sylvi – Robert, can you show your transaction history that happened between you and them.

[Robert’s leg started trembling ]

Robert - Why not, Take this.

[ I cross checked it ]

Sylvi - I can see that few amount had been give to you before you gave them money.

Robert - Actually, in starting I gave them cash and they returned it in account and then I gave them money in their account .The investment process started in February and they gave me returns till April and after that there was inconsistency in giving my money back and by the end of the year , there was no contact between us.

Sylvi - Ok , I got it. Thanks Robert I understood your case and I am ready to fight for you. Now, I will contact you if I need your assistance any more in the case.

Robert - Thank you.

I started working on this case as soon as he went. I gathered all the required information and filed his case.

1ST DAY OF HEARING IN COURT.

Judge - ‘I CAN SEE THAT THE EVIDENCE GIVEN BY MR. ROBERT’S LAWYER CERTIFIES THAT BILL AND TOM NEED TO GIVE ROBERT RS. 1,00,00,000 AFTER INTEREST COUNTED.'

Bill’s Lawyer - My Lord ,I have an evidence. There is an agreement signed between Bill and Robert that specifies that Bill has given Robert Rs.70,00,000 and....[ Robert interrupts and says that I have not signed any of it.]

{Mr. Robert handwriting gets cross verified but it comes to be false}

SO, FINALLY MR. ROBERT WINS THE CASE AND GETS HIS MONEY BACK WITH FULL INTEREST.

I WAS SO HAPPY THAT I WON THIS CASE. I STARTED CONFIDENT ABOUT MY PROFESSION.

15 DAYS LATER…..

It was Sunday and the day was off. I received a letter. 

The letter was of Mr. Robert .

“Hi Sylvi, I hope you will be fine and getting new cases everyday after winning my case. As told during our first conversation, when the time comes I am a truth speaking person. So, let me tell you that what exactly happened. 

I took Rs.1,00,00,000 from Bill and Tom to invest in my company but due to my mismanagement I lost all of it and was in debt . 

Tom and Billie were very selfish and had done frauds with many poor people in our town. So, I thought to give them results of their sin and I thought to play an artificial constructed game with them. 

Most of the transactions between us was done in cash so it had no proofs. Some were done in the account that you saw but I gave them more that they gave me in my account. I interrupted the Bill's lawyer so that she can't complete her words and I also mentioned that I modify my handwriting everyday so it didn’t match on the hearing day. Finally, the case went in my favour and I won.”

I was in shock that the reverse case filling was done and as a human I am also profit -oriented so I knew that it was due to Robert’s case that my reputation and income increased so I thought to keep this letter a secret and till today whenever I remember this case I think and whisper 

“MR. ROBERT KILLED IT!"
