If you are divorced or widow in a country like India, then it is almost impossible to start a new life again. People perception changes, they look at you as if you have done a heinous crime being divorced or widow.

My husband Rajat died in a car accident just two years after our marriage, our son Rishi was 8 months old then. My in-laws abandoned me & blamed me for bringing bad luck to their family. My parents didn't accept me either. Aarav, My husband's best friend supported me during that miserable time. Aarav & Rajat were childhood friends, they studied in the same school, the same college & even started a business together. I would rather say that they were 'Bros for Life'. Aarav not only gave me shelter to live but also made me learn the business tactics so that I can take a stand against the world & raise my son proudly as a single mother. He never demanded anything, it was a selfless act. It's been two years & I haven't looked back after that.

During these years I have developed an intense love towards him & I think he also likes me. All this time I wanted to tell him that I want to spend my whole life with him but being a widow it is not possible for me to express my love towards him. I feel like my eternal love is chained to the cruel laws of society.

Yesterday he gave me his Engagement Invitation card. I read his face, he was not happy about it but wore a fake smile. I hugged him & said 'this is how the real world is, it's not our fault'. There was utter silence in the room I broke that with my shivering voice 'Congratulations'.
