A Heartful Marriage

Once I was invited in a marriage ceremony. Very happily I went over there. Normally it happens that the bride's family makes special arrangements for groom's family as groom's family is always priority. I was sitting on a chair. All were waiting for baraat to come.

Suddenly one of the family members from groom's side came to me & said, "Sir, it looks like baraat will come late. You please have some snacks." That person made me sit on a long table where all other guests were sitting. After that delicious snacks was served to everyone sitting on that long dining table. Soup, delicious samosas & later on dinner. It was really a tasty dinner. Everyone was highly satisfied. Time was running & baraat did not arrive. 

Ther bride's father came to us & said, "Dear guests all of you please come with me, we have organized a musical show in that hall." He took all the guests in a big hall where a group of 12 musicians were sitting on the stage with different musical instruments in their hands. The hall was neat and clean with chairs arranged in a systematic order for the guests. We all sat over there & the music show started. The lead singer was having a mesmerizing voice. The musicians were playing instruments in perfect coordination. We were enjoying the show. In between, waiters were serving us cold drinks, samosas, jalebi, paneer pakoras & much more. Great music & delecius snacks, we were really enjoying.

Suddenly someone should, "Baraat has arrived." All of us went to see the baraat. After that the marriage ceremony happened, everybody took dinner & were about to return home. At the exit gate of marriage hall, the bride's uncle was standing with garland in his hand. Whosoever was leaving, he was thanking that person by honouring with garland. He did the same thing to me. After putting garland around my neck he bowed his head in front of me & said, "Your presence made this evening even more beautiful." I touched his feet & said, "Uncle, you are my elder. Please don't do this. This function is the most memorable function of my life. Thank you very much for everything." He smiled and blessed me. I moved ahead towards my home.

That day I came to know what is true hospitality. Giving equal importance to all your guests, making them satisfied in all ways & of course thanking them from heart that they became a part of some important day of our life, that is known as the real hospitality. But how many of us do it? If some guest wants to visit our home, in most of the cases we say that we are not at home. Many of us do one more big mistake. The best quality snacks & biscuits we store for ourselves & give cheap quality snacks to the daily guests. When someone calls us on Sunday & says that he has something very urgent to discuss with us & he wants to come to our home, we say in our mind, "Oh no! Now this useless person will spoil my entire Sunday. Why I even picked up the call of this useless guy?"  

Marriage ceremony is the most beautiful day in the life of those who are getting married. In such a jolly occasion, if the guests are fully satisfied, they bless the bride & groom from their heart & pray for their happy life. By serving our guests in a royal way, we thank them for being a part of the most important day of our life. That day I realised that what is the importance of other people in our life. Alone we are nothing. All the happiness in our life is because others are there to celebrate with us.
