" Hi there, I promised you that I will write to you every day. It has been a month since I started talking to you and I think it is going well...",

with these words,Pakhi closed her journal and looked out of the window of the train in which she was going to Mumbai from Bangalore. Her teary eyes and dry face was visible to all the passengers. She was least bothered about the way people were looking at her or judging her She was going far away from the love of her life when she boarded the train to leave for Mumbai. She was about to begin a new job that was waiting for her in the Maximum City, Having graduated just six months back she had found a good opportunity that could take her to the heights she had always dreamt of. One thing she had never dreamt of was finding love, love that could make her things feel she never felt before in her life. Pakhi had never dreamt that moving away from her love for the sake of her career could be so painful that an independent and strong girl like her would end up crying in front of a whole bunch of strangers while boarding the train. She opened her journal once again and started writing with her teary eyes...

" I met him two years back in our college fest. We were just batchmates and teammates who were giving their best to conduct the event. He was so popular in college that every girl or boy, senior or junior, faculty or student knew him really well. He was good looking too but I never noticed him in such a way. I was with someone else and it seemed I was happy till he came and made me feel what it was like to be happy. He was a good friend and companion. We fell in love but we were scared of drifting apart. We did not want to continue but somehow it happened and we lived in the moment. We got a job in the same company. We were together for six months in Bangalore. Who knew that those six months would be so difficult to forget once we moved apart for our respective jobs. Things would change from seeing each other 24X7 to maybe once in a month and for how long…”

It was midnight when she gazed out of her window again and wished that she could fall asleep. She had a long day ahead of her but her eyes wouldn’t shut. She would keep checking her phone and network waiting for messages or calls. He would also be on a train at this time and maybe he was having the same troubles as her. Maybe he was asleep because he too had a very long day in front of him. The night drifted off in front of her eyes and the sun started to peek when she realized that she has already spent a day without him. After all, she might be able to manage on her own once she reached Mumbai and got settled into her new job. She had to manage somehow, she had to convince herself by hook or by crook. She dozed off for sometime in the morning and reached Mumbai in the afternoon after traveling for more than 18 hours…
