72 Hours (Chapter 1)


He was rushed to the ventilation room. Operated and kept unconscious. Nurse appointed for supervision. Ishemic heart disease. Where the blood vessels supplying blood to the heart are narrowed. Doctor had promised not more than 3 days of life. Zach.
The doctors kept him better temporarily, and left. The nurse was let in for medicational oversee. She entered humming a sad song. His eyes opened fluttering-blur, with love for the woman, curious to know the face behind the melodious voice. Unable to view her face, fascinated, he asked her name. 'Aster', said she. Smiled elegantly at the handsome face, and left. The look on her face and the feeling her heart spoke the sudden love for the charming man.
But she didn't know his name. He hadn't seen her face. But they were in love.
After her shift, she sat next to Zach, waiting for his consciousness, humming the same song. He opened his eyes, slowly, still couldn't see her properly, but hypnotized in her voice. Charmed and touched deeply with love, he forgot his pain, and that death was near. She forgot to ask his name, wandering into his eyes. She sat there singing all night, with him listening-
'this where's the love was, the love of the first day, honey don't wait to die, two days are still left, I am still by your side'.....
