Claudia walked into the living room, warmed up by the little fireplace. Outside the chilly breeze blew, snowflakes dancing, covering everything in white as far as the eyes could reach. "Nancy?" she called out.

"Yes mama" she replied, looking at her mother with pleading eyes, her mother understood exactly what her child was longing for. It was thanksgiving dinner at night and Claudia was busy preparing when she noticed Nancy leaning to the window for the longest time.

"I am sorry Nancy dear, you know of the strict orders about not going outside!" The situation in the area had become rather fragile with the pandemic, the death toll rising daily and many in the neighbourhood hospitalised. To practice cautiousness had become mandatory to overcome the situation at hand.

Snow time has always been Nancy's favourite time of the year when all the children would gather and make snow men and throw snowballs, Claudia could sense how much her daughter was missing those times. "Would you like to help me with preparing dinner? I promise it will be fun" smiling she escorted Nancy to the kitchen.

Nancy was hungry, but she was quick to eat so that she could continue writing her mystery novel, which desperately needed a mystery. She got back to her typewriter, and spent a hour to unsuccessful brainstorming. When there was a knock on the door, it was Rudolph!

He was panting and scurrying, but why? "Wow, Rudolph! What are you doing here? And where's Santa?" Nancy asked, as Claudia took him to their backyard. "Santa, Santa is tied, tied by the Gargoyles". He said. "And you Nancy, were on the top of his list, you were his favourite, you are the only one who can save him! You're the only one who can save Christmas!"

Claudia and Nancy exchanged looks. "Let's save Christmas then, us three!" Claudia said, as they say on Rudolph 's sleigh, as they rode in through the winter night to rescue Santa!

And Nancy had gotten a perfect mystery adventure to pen!
