Yearning
Yearning
Have you yearned for anything, do you know how it feels?
You are hungry and starving, you’ve gone without meals;
You can see food displayed; you can see people eating,
The need is so intense, that you’ve no time for waiting.
All your life you have slept on the dusty streets, so you crave,
For a soft bed, a fan overhead, the luxuries for which you rave;
You may hanker for fame, a posh car, or a palatial house,
Being deprived, you have always nurtured an unexpressed grouse.
You want to be at the summit, but your destination is too far;
It's beyond your reach, you may only yearn, crave and desire!
