Eye for an I

Eye for an I

2 mins 6.9K 2 mins 6.9K

An eye for an eye

Blood for a heart

Sword for a gun

Bomb for a country

We for a you

You for an eye

That's how the world works,

We talk about humanity, about goodness, about all things that make us more real, more human;

But, the dark fact is we are all just blackened spirits,

Running, searching and begging for new ways to whiten our souls,

We lost ourselves in the search for perfection.

Souls, are immortal, their supposed to live forever,

But slowly, yet surely

We feel ourselves getting suffocated,

By guilt, the anger and all the hatred.

We're all our own demonda, our own weakness.

The side of light has now found the absence if it.

We give a carless ear to the cries

We laugh at the pain

We blind ourselves from the truth

Because, you know it's hard not to

We are all masterpieces if the wrong tomes,

Cause there was more darker colors uses than the lighter ones,

We're torn pictures pretending,

Pretending to be perfect, ignorant and incomparable.

We do see the negative, but then a blind eye to it

Is this what we've come to?

Just a lone voice, in the midst of the noise?

Just a single candle in the darkness?

Just the sole goodness in this world of bitterness?

An eye for an eye

Blood for a heart

Sword for a gun

Gun for a country

We for a you

You for an eye.
