They soar in the skies

Those bittersweet memories

of mine

Your breath on my face

smelling of a mixture

of vodka and cigarettes

Your callused hands

pulling me up whenever

I fell, burdened with demons

living in my head

You told me to meet

them headlong and

learn to live on my terms

I did. But those terms

included you.

Everything I learnt from you

is now I learnt, with you gone
