Will It Be Enough?

Will It Be Enough?

Can you feel the emptiness inside your chest

As you lay your head down and weep

For you the night offers no rest

The price of affection is steep,

Your pain runs deep

You gave your heart away

And the price is now yours to pay

Left your soul in dismay,

Did you think it would be enough?

Can you feel your veins run dry

You've filled yourself with naught but lies

Left yourself with nothing

Poured it all into those you loved

Love is suicide but to live without love is to die

You were always there when they cry

Did you think it would be enough?

You sit alone in the dark with your head in your hands

Its almost like you trying to keep it from falling apart,

You know if you hadn't carved out your heart

Your demons would be eating it by now

You look around for a friendly face who promised to be there at the start,

And you wish more than anything for someone to understand,

That while you may be alive

You are onl

y living to die

Did you think it would be enough?

Your hand is steady as you fill it with pills

For once your head grows quiet

You're so sick of hurting and trying

Spent half your days hiding and crying

You don't have it in you to fight anymore

You never asked to be a part of this war

There's nothing left for you you're exhausted

Being trapped inside of your mind like a hostage

Your hope and your drive have been distorted

Your efforts have all been thwarted

Did you think it would have been enough?

You wake up in the morning

And your hit by this wave of mourning,

The anger explodes inside of your bones

You know all the Gods are laughing on their thrones,

Offered your soul so willingly to be rejected,

To what more torture will you be subjected

With tears in your eyes you rise,

And pick up the life you so casually threw aside,

You catch glimpse of the empty bottle

Did you think it would be enough?
