The Test That Wasn't
The Test That Wasn't
Sitting at the corner,
With almost an empty head,
I tried to remember,
Those formulas I had read.
Soon the bell rang,
Midst all chaos and chatter,
My pulse began to rise,
And dreams ready to shatter.
As the paper reached me,
I peeked, and was pretty sure,
I had to repeat this course,
Another semester to endure.
Over the hours I struggled,
At every question of the test,
With every single brain cell,
Working to its very best.
The bell rang again,
Midst tense, laboured silence,
My mind went blank,
Things stopped making sense.
Then it came to mind,
To turn this to a silly rhyme,
And muse my pity self,
For this happens every time.
