Caught A Drug-addict...

Caught A Drug-addict...

I would often boast of a trait of mine

Of not having tasted a drop of wine,

Unless I met a hapless drug addict

And watched pain he did inflict

Not on anyone else but on his own

As he plunged the needle into his bone.

With disgust and horror, I looked at him

Cursing him for killing his father's dream.

Waking a bit, he replied at the end

You too are an addict, my friend.

Money is your drug, and work, the fine

Killing each day your collar's shine

We are all, spoilt dreams, he said

Just puppets playing as instructed.
