My Dearest
My Dearest
Today as the drizzle drenched us both,
I remembered, our relationship would,
Soon move to its eighth year,
Wondering, wiping the drops,
I lost myself in the reverie, our own.
Remember, three years ago, when
I had to move on, and you didn't speak
To me, I felt we would part, but
Something about you brings me back,
Old broken things about us....
When I was a kid, new to the art,
I would often fall off the track,
You could go, but you never did,
You laid beside me, and helped me
Pick up, the both of us...
Remember, how differen
t we have
Grown, I am now much taller, and
You have changed parts, but you
See even when everything changes,
We still remain the same...
I too have learned to get to your speed,
You have changed tyres, love has
Become like gears, we notice only
When something goes wrong, and
Then repair ourselves for the other...
To be honest, I think a break up is due,
For the first love must be lost,
So that it doesn't age to hate,
Please don't worry, if I desert you,
Dear cycle, my heart shall ring with you.
