The Strange House
The Strange House
It was a strange, strange house
Not a single fly, or a mouse
Empty since thousands of years
Making people gather their fears...
Hung from walls were cobwebs around
Though no spider was yet found.
Here plenty of legendary quotes pass
Queer rumbles shook the lawn's grass.
When at midnight no one awoke,
The house released silvery smoke
Bidding farewell in a haunted voice
To shadowy figures making a choice.
Many believe that its full of danger
Feeling its words as it calls for a stranger
Until a young historian came
Not knowing about the house's fame...
Nothing was surprising when news told
That the person's life held a fold,
When its disappearance spread worldwide
The house had a few things to confide.
A voice said that it wasn't its fault
"I'm reminding you again- please halt,
Do not come any near to the house
Or it's anger will still arouse.
Once this house was built by a creature
Who added this special feature-
Of not allowing his secrets to unfold
As you know this house will hold."
"Please release me; I am bound to die
All that I said is not a lie!
To help in my rescue bring a person
Who can answer my difficult question.
I remember my question now
But before that you must vow:
Not to repeat the answers anywhere
Or else you will decide unfair."
"My question is to fill a well
And to the person, you must tell
Overflow it with pearls in only one day
If you can, come with me and do as I say.
Go worldwide and fulfill my quest
And don't bring any useless pest
The creature I want is a faithful being
Who has lived in the house without anyone seeing."
