The Little Girl Taught Me
The Little Girl Taught Me
I was feeling very sad and low,
An unknown fear was possessing me, you see
Everything in my life seemed slow.
When I saw a little girl right in front of me,
I was sitting in the park,
She was a happy little girl playing alone.
Singing some song happy as a lark.
While I sat there immobile like a stone.
Then she came and sat next to me,
Tentatively touched me with a shy smile,
I looked at her face so happy so free,
While I felt I had walked a hundred mile.
Come she said let's play together,
We did play, she and me to forget my pain
Running around trying to catch her.
Falling down getting up once again.
It was like freeing the child In me.
All the fears, pain, I had, left me to go away.
The demon's had left me I felt so free.
Tomorrow for me would be a new day.
Who are you I asked her, I don't know,
She said I come here to play.
I don't have a place to sleep, stay, or to go.
This is where I live my life every day.
We were both lost souls but yet apart.
I blessed with everything, yet feeling low,
While she was blessed with nothing but a pure heart.
Which Gave her happy little face a bright glow.
I took her home to be at my side.
Her presence would teach me to be calm.
In Taming my demon's, she would my guide.
Her presence would also act like a balm.
