Memories are all that remain when you become old,

Memories that are more precious than gold!

Memories of happiness, of pain,

Memories of childhood that remain,

Etched into your mind in all ways,

Memories of adolescence of school days.

Memories of friendship, of parting ways,

Memories you never forget, memories that stay,

You find solace in your old age when you are alone, and facing your end!

And wonder if you can atone for wrongs done to your friend.

You are alone without anyone only your memories,

Of said,  some unsaid stories.

You smile, as your grandchild plays in your lap,

difference in your age, there is so much of a gap

Infancy old age are on the same side,

You are her benefactor and guide,

Your life has now come to an end

You look at your grandchild a new life begins.

The circle of life starts the old giving way to the young.
