The Crystal Forest

The Crystal Forest

3 mins
3

Beyond the mountains tall and bright,
Where stars would glow in silver light,
There stood a forest strange and fair,
With crystal trees beyond compare.

The branches shone with colors rare,
Blue and violet filled the air,
And when the wind would softly blow,
The trees would sing in gentle glow.

A village lay not far away,
Where children laughed and loved to play,
But one young boy with curious eyes
Dreamed of wonders and surprise.

His name was Lian, brave and bright,
Who dreamed of magic day and night,
While others feared the forest deep,
His heart held secrets he would keep.

“The forest holds strange magic there,”
The elders warned with worried care,
“Do not step in its glowing land,
For dangers hide beneath the sand.”

But warnings could not stop his mind,
Adventure called him from behind,
One sunny morn with hopeful cheer,
He walked toward the forest near.

He carried bread, a lantern small,
And courage stronger than them all,
Step by step he crossed the way,
Where crystal lights began to sway.

Inside the forest shining bright,
The trees reflected rainbow light,
Like diamonds dancing in the sun,
A magic world had just begun.

Butterflies with wings of gold
Fluttered softly, bright and bold,
Their glowing light began to guide
The path where hidden secrets hide.

Suddenly a voice rang clear,
“Who dares to wander wandering here?”
Lian stopped and looked around,
But saw no person on the ground.

From crystal branch with silent grace,
A fox-like creature showed its face,
Its silver fur like moonlight bright,
Its glowing eyes a gentle light.

“I am Meilin, forest guide,
The guardian where crystals hide.
Why have you come, young traveler brave?
What treasure is it that you crave?”

Lian spoke with honest tone,
“I seek no gold nor jeweled throne.
I only wish to see and know
The magic that these forests show.”

The creature paused and softly said,
“Your heart holds courage, not just dread.
But danger now begins to rise,
A shadow dark before our eyes.”

“The Heart Crystal deep below
Gives the forest magic’s glow,
Yet in the caves a serpent wakes,
A beast of stone the darkness makes.”

“If that dark serpent breaks the light,
The forest falls to endless night.”

Lian felt fear within his chest,
Yet bravery rose above the rest.

“Then let us go,” the boy replied,
“I will stand here by your side.”

Together through the forest wide,
Past rivers bright where crystals glide,
They climbed through hills of shining stone,
Where echoes sang a lonely tone.

At last they reached the cavern door,
Where shadows stretched along the floor,
Within the cave a crystal bright
Glowed softly with eternal light.

“The Heart Crystal,” Meilin said,
“The source where magic’s spirit spread.”

But suddenly the earth did shake,
A roar the silent cave did break.

From darkest depths with glowing eyes
A giant serpent seemed to rise,
Its body formed of stone and night,
Its burning eyes a fearful sight.

The creature hissed with thunder loud,
A shadow darker than the cloud.

Yet Lian stood though fear was near,
For courage grows when hearts are clear.

He took his lantern shining bright,
And threw it toward the crystal light,
The shards above began to glow,
Reflecting beams in dazzling flow.

The serpent roared and hid its face,
Blinded by the crystal’s grace.

“Now!” cried Meilin with sudden might,
Leaping forward in the light.

A glowing shard she pushed ahead,
Toward the crystal glowing red.

The magic burst like lightning bright,
Filling the cavern full of light.

The serpent roared one final cry,
Before it turned to dust nearby.

Silence filled the cave once more,
The danger ended like before.

The Heart Crystal glowed once again,
Free from darkness, free from pain.

Outside the forest sparkled bright,
The crystal trees sang pure delight.

The wind carried their shining song,
A melody both proud and strong.

Meilin smiled and gently said,
“You faced the dark and never fled.
Because of you the forest lives,
And magic once again it gives.”

A pendant formed of crystal clear
Appeared within his hand right here.

“A gift for courage pure and true,
To keep the forest close to you.”

Lian left the shining forest fair,
The crystal moonlight in the air,
Returning to his village small,
Where no one believed his tale at all.

Yet when the moonlight touched the gem,
Its glow returned again to him.

And deep within his heart he knew
The forest magic still was true.

For those who dare with hearts sincere
Will find that adventure always near.
