Rusting Heart

Rusting Heart

Long ago when your heart you exposed

I thought it was as pure as gold

I hung it around my neck adorned in a golden string

Waiting for the love and the joys it would bring

'Tis now that I take a closer look

At your rusting heart and it's deathly hook

The string like a noose tightens round my neck

And Oh!! ... it's waiting ...waiting for the final wreck.
