The Rose And The Leaf
The Rose And The Leaf
What would you like to be
A lovely rose or a simple leaf?
A rose stays in bloom for maybe a week.
But does anyone care when forever the leaf sleeps?
The lovely hues on the petalled form,
Cast a spell, binds all in their charm
But every second life and strength
To the plant, the little leaf sends,
Its pride and beauty was yesterday's
A withered form is now on display
But night and day toiling along
No glories gained yet the leaf complains not
Remember friends, life does not run on mere appearance
Beauty withers, the pride of youth ends.
But a loving soul will life and strength send
To all around till its very end.
