Pyre
Pyre

Come, light my pyre.
Burn in it all my prejudices
My beliefs, my faith
My high-sounding political ideologies
My ritualistic religious intricacies
My assumed intellectual superiority
My intolerant judgemental opinions
My caste, my creed, my gender
My nationality, my very identity
Then scatter my ashes in the air
That though my body was denied
It’s last gasping breath of oxygen
My soul may breathe at last
