Grief
Grief
Grief and I met after many a day
We had both mellowed with age
She had lost her sting
And I, my resistance
We sat side by side in silence
Each lost in our reminiscences
She of her gains
And I of my losses
We shared a comfortable silence
No more tears and tantrums
No promises to move on
Just a calm acceptance
Grief and I parted after a while
Each of us wiser with age
She did not bid adieu
And I did not say au revoir..
