Absence

One day I shall disappear
And hope you will look for me

In the monotones of the slate grey sky
In the murmurs of the gently falling rain
In the heart wrenching wails of a harsh blowing wind
In the hillside bloom of an innocent daisy
In the cooing serenade of a mating pigeon
In the twinkling lights of a distant hill

Oneday I shall disappear 
And hope you will look for me.

In facebook updates that were never followed 
In the ping of messages that were never read
In the ringtones of phone calls that went unanswered 
In the lines of emails that went straight to junk
In the pages of a poetry book that doesnot bear my name
In the recesses of your memory that you never visited

Oneday I shall disappear 
And hope that my absence 
Will take up more mindspace
Than my presence ever did.
