The Mountain And The Stream
The Mountain And The Stream

The Mountain stands tall and strong
Stoic and silent and proud
Cloaked in icy detachment
Not one to express aloud
The Stream like a bubbling cauldron
Meanders and rushes along
In places it weeps in fatigue
In places it gushes in song
The Mountain has no need for assurance
It knows it will always be around
The Stream depends on the melting snow
It's fears and apprehensions abound
The steadfast Mountain cannot understand
The tempermental stream's ebb and flow
The insecure Stream cannot explain
It's existence depends on the Mountain snow
