Whose Fault Is It?

Whose Fault Is It?

One day he asked me,

 "Didi, what is my fault?,

Why in this world I get stuck?

Why they are carrying books and pen?

And why my shoulders are heavy with burden?"

Ammi said, "This is your Kismet"

Is it?

Is it pre determined by your God?

Please tell, this time my questions need to be answered.

His questions were blended with innocence and they left me speechless.

Then I realised , only shedding tears is worthless.

Looking at his droopy eyes, I said;

No Raju this is not your Kismet,

And this is not your fault.

If it's not mine then whose? He retorted.

Taking a deep breath I answered,

The fault is mine;

 And the fault is ours,

We as a society failed to provide your basic needs.

While boasting about the demolition of article 370,

We forgot to talk of article 24 and 21A.

While adding stairs to our buildings,

We forced you to the dingy world of suffering.

And I'm sorry I couldn't do anything for you.

For all those misdeeds we have done to you;

 Can you please forgive me?

Can you please forgive us?

Wiping my tears with his weeny hands he said,

 Didi, I will forgive you but not others..
