Pleasant Raindrops

The radiant sun draws its golden veils of radiance behind the amethyst sky,

While silver raindrops stream down the giant cloud's dark cheeks,

One falls on a green leaf of the merry apple bough,

A dozen falls on the doleful sunflower-only the sunshine it seeks.

A fifty fall on the thin wire high,

Such a beautiful necklace of myriad pearls it has worn!

Innumerable drops like shining quartz,

Patter on the road looking forlorn.

Raindrops touch the lush grass of the meadows with a snowy touch,

Touching the red bonnets of the country girls -

They seem to wind around their golden hair,

With beautiful twists and curls.

Raindrops never cease to care the farmhouse eaves,

And stroke the metal window ledge,

They caress the blooming red rose

Adorned with its silver shine, beside the thorny hedge.

Now and then, the raindrops drizzle from the looming clouds,

Performing an angelic ballet in the outstretched lawns,

They play an enchanting melody on my roof,

Like the drops that fall off the bodies of the golden deer fawns!

The soul of the wood repines, for the radiant sun,

As the fishes get devoured by the swift crane;

Come with me to the hills, where the spring flowers blossom,

To seek the pure love of the rain.
