A Spring Night
A Spring Night
Smiling in the sky, the twinkling stars gleam,
In the silver wings on the gentle moonbeam,
And the green-tinted grasses bathed in fountains of moonlight,
Ornaments the soul of the woods on a silent night.
The boughs laden with fruitful blossoms are beautiful,
Sweet to hear is the sovereign lilt of the bulbul--
The mesmerizing fragrance of the flowering jasmine bushes is soft as a child's mirth,
That hastens the seeds of future to birth.
Down at the running brook , where the clear, gurgling waters flow,
The bejewelled fireflies gather and give out a golden glow.
I could hear the gushing of water from a waterfall,
And the silent sound of the zephyr floating in the way of the cricket's call.
