Abstract

On the eve of Teacher's Day

On the eve of Teacher's Day

Toxic societal trap,

Forces many to stand by me,

When I face life risk,

But do you know what they tell me?

Not directly though,

But yes, losing me will mean,

They have failed being responsible,

Their image will be tarnished,

Moreover, they are bound by,

Either their parents or relations,

Hence, they can't 'afford' to lose me,

And so recuperation is horrible,

I merely have to get back to my feet,

Only for my service and all,

Eat healthy, take medicines,

That should suffice me,

Well, this is the ugly truth,

I have been surviving on,

Not everyone is a friend,

Standing by me in need.

And, thus by not standing by me,

Emotionally draining me instead,

They too are great teachers to me,

I laud their no participation,

I applaud their criticisms,

Even on my death bed,

Those tirades, those 'jokes',

The distasteful and deliberate fights,

So that I take prompt action,

And, they can pinpoint my faults,

And, manage to defend themselves,

Are all hard lessons learnt every single day.

Yes, with no shoulder and hand,

To comfort and cheer me,

I do feel morose and alone,

But, I cannot change their mindset,

No matter how much I sincerely try,

All they discern is, I am a threat,

To their happiness and peace,

Yet, I should sweat and toil for them,

For that is the law of this world.

On a positive note,

Their ceaseless torture,

Makes me creative,

Think of ideas and act,

To develop my own wings,

Silently through the darkness,

And fly away without commotion,

And, that indeed is a wonderful preaching,

Coming though, via wrong route,

And this struggle has to end in defeat,

Of my harassers, finding enjoyment,

Through mental and emotional abuse,

For when I stand up for myself,

I'm inspiring another woman,

And, this chain has to go on,

To completely destroy,

The suffocating world order.
