Moonlight

Moonlight

It shines bright for us,

Comes up every night,

But what could happen

If the moon lost its light?

That bathes rivers in it

Makes them pools of stars

It is special to Earth, sacred to all

But maybe not on Mars.

A young girl can transform herself

Into a dancing doll,

It turns a dull, dusty house

Into a celebration hall.

One day the moon may lose its light

Of our own deeds-what will we do then?

We can only sit and mourn-

The children, the old, the men and women.
