A Tiny Taint
A Tiny Taint
In every jar of honey is a speck of pollen,
In every bottle of water a microbe, lying in wait,
In every dish of yogurt are a thousand buds of yeast,
In every book is a sad twist, a sorrowful fate;
In every pretty cake is a pinch of salt,
In every ice cream is artificial paint,
In every gold chain is a bit of copper,
In every great man is a tiny taint.
