HELPLESS FEELING........

HELPLESS FEELING........

How do we help you Philu Akai*?

Every way was tried out,

To keep you well and healthy,

But sadly nothing seems to work!

You too are trying your best to breathe in oxygen,

Through your BIPAP machine very well,

But your lungs are not cooperating,

To absorb all the oxygen, you take within!

Your younger son has been with you,

He is in the hospital all the time, day and night,

To see you are taken care of very well,

And your medicines too, given on time!

Your elder son is stuck in Canada now,

Wife full-term pregnant, can’t leave her alone,

All his mind is here with you only,

He is doing all his best from there, all that he can!

We are praying here for you day and night,

Feel so helpless as we can’t do much,

As this deadly virus has no grounds,

To attack, spread or even kill someone!

You took all the care and stayed indoors,

Don’t know how you got the virus,

Now, it’s troubling you so much,

We have only God to help us out now!

*Akai – Father’s sister is called Akai in Konkani

NOTE – I wrote this poem last year same time when my aunt, Ms. Philomena Lobo was in the ICU and we are all praying for her. ( COVID 19 Positive) Sadly she passed away on 1st June 2021.
