Our Schools!

Our Schools!

                Our Schools!

Our children are our responsibility,

Good schools and education too,

Our responsibility first than anything else,

Education is above everything,

Once educated well, rest will follow,

As they will have a reasoning mind of their own,

They can see the right and the wrong,

They can get a fair job to live well,

They will have knowledge,

And they can be independent,

Later on, can guide their juniors to do well,

For all this education is a must,

To educate them, schools should be good,

Not just a few elite schools where the ones who can afford go,

Every child, be he a farmer’s son or a labourer’s daughter,

All have the right to be educated well,

So, our government schools should be improved very much,

Where all these poor children go,

They should have enough teachers,

Strong walls, clean toilets and playgrounds,

We can afford all this very well,

Only the urge should be there for the ones in control,

To improve our government schools first before everything else!

When I was in Kansas, my friend Julie took me to her school,

It was so well equipped that every class had their own library too,

Old text books were mended I saw for the fresh batch of students,

They don’t discard the old textbooks just like we do,

Every child buys new textbooks for every new class here,

She also told me that their government schools are better,

Better than the private ones, so more demand to join them,

To join the Government schools and not the private ones,

And here we are just the opposite, whose fault, is it? Think…..

Eighty years of Independence is enough to improve our schools,

We have to take care of our underprivileged children,

See that they improve all round, to live well,

For that, good schools and education is a must!
