Grey...

Grey...

Dad.

He was always my pillar when I knew I'd fall,

Always my anchor so strong and tall,

His hard face changed only for me,

His softer side, so careless and free.

I scratched my knee that day,

When I fell from my bicycle,

When I cried he said, "I'll always be there for you",

And I said me too,

And till today you would hold me near,

While I walked into the dark room with fear,

You would never let me cry,

And today I left you at an old age home like you were a wilted plant,

I didn't even say goodbye.

I remember the promises we gave each other,

To be together through every difficult night and day,

Till I wrinkle and your hair become grey.

Grey. It reminds me of you,

And how your shattered heart might have been, as you may still be waiting for me,

As your hair become grey and grey,

As the end of life ticks, its clock,

And you are gone away.
