Breast Cancer
Breast Cancer
I am not weak,
I am not powerless,
I am not dying,
I am just in a battle,
A battle which can only be won by prayer and hope.
Breast cancer,
It's just a phase, it won't last,
A battle I'm fighting to win it,
It's just an event that will change me, but to be my better self,
It can't and won't quench the ambition of my determined spirit.
I will be brave, I will pull through,
And I will heal to be better than new.
And I will be the same,
For the ones who love me,
For not my body, but my soul.
I will scar, but not deep within,
Because I'll be protected by my resilience and every well wish;
I'll cure my sufferings with time and hope,
And I will bloom again like a summer iris.
Because:
I am not weak,
I am not powerless,
I am not dying,
I am just in a battle,
A battle, bravely I'll win.
Breast cancer. It's not merely a disease, it's a fight of resilience and resistance and strength. I have known people around me who are fighters, survivors. This poem is based on my thoughts, but their perspective.
