A bird settled on my soul
A bird settled on my soul
A bird settled on my soul
I felt it's feathers brush up
Against my shoulders
Tired from the world
My shoulders were, they
felt it's touch disintegrate
As my low eyes exhumed
A hue so grey and
white of truth, I heard
The frail faint rhythm of
Melody, that was it's feeble
Heart, it beat pounding
Shaken from its reality
As sickly weary it had
Plodded draw in and
Draw out, ceaselessly so
It beat of fulfillment
It beat of rest, that
Was it's last, a final
Bated breath, and in that
Moment of the Great Divide
The epiphany came forth
That bird, gracefully so
Was the epitome of life
Clutching the tints of the
World from the sky
Toiling under the scorch
For a shield from this
Bitter world, perishing
Peacefully unbridled
