Gallistic Gale
Gallistic Gale
A little of me, more of my spirit
Above roared the scorching sun
But the game had to be won.
The goal was far, leaped the strength
From within.
Opponent too strong defended like a hawk
Yet the defender barged ahead
Overshot the ball
Raced and menaced to the boundary
Giving us alone a chance to get above the equalizer.
All eyes on us, stadium cheering
Thousand voices yelling, steering our wits
Cheering our souls.
Referee's whistle, the arched us
Zoomed ahead
A beast in me sauntered to head the rising challenge
Leaped with all my push, broke into the power of it
With all my senses reeling under the impact I charged.
Without waiting for the crowd to yell we knew we had won it.
The lone goal by me
As I lay flat kissing the ground
With the teammates gathered around
The clear-headed goal, everyone astound.
A little me but not so little of me anymore.
