Brother's Heart
Brother's Heart
When Mother is not around, my sister would have a role new found.
She managed the house and better still
She managed the two brothers and an old grandma
With aplomb and praise. We gave our best by listening to her
More than we listened to ma.
She took care of us and was more stricter than ma.
She served lunch, to all
Though we came together from school.
She ensured we gleaned our plates
She was more stricter than maa.
She arranged the house and did her homework.
When she sat next to us she was more stricter than maa.
Preparing for evening and setting the house order
After she was convinced nothing remained
As she was more stricter than maa.
She went to with us to play,
Checking on our language and company that we played
As she was more stricter than maa.
All teenage years of her life she spent
Without a dent
Into the immaculate routine
Caring, preparing, showering and garnering
Love, affection, care and compassion.
She seldom ate her share of sweets,
Kept them as incentive for us to entreat.
She is our supersister and wonder woman.
I love you Appa, Didi and pseudo aai,
Will protect you and be there for you
My entire life.
