Caged Bird

At an early age,

Living inside a cage,

Miserable days,

To escape, she'd no way,

Staring at the same place,

Looking at the same face,

And has lost her pace.

All characteristics are lost,

And will be sold at some cost,

Seeing the bird,

I don't have any words,

She feels so sad,

While I feel so bad,

She wants to see her dad.

She dosen't give up even then,

But don't know when,

She'll see the world out,

And very happily shout,

Keep flying everywhere,

Her food, she wants to share,

And find herself a pair,

She keeps thinking,

But she's still blinking,

Doesn't know, what's next,

But wants to live in her nest,

She puts down her head,

And goes to bed,

After being fed.

She's unable to sleep,

And saw few birds peep,

She gives them a glare,

Her owner is not fair,

She wants to be freed,

This is not her greed,

It is her need.

She doesn't want to plead,

But wants someone to feed,

She becomes tired,

To look after her, I was hired,

This was my plan,

And gathered my clan,

Carrying her, very fast I ran.

I want this trade to be banned,

My fate, the road was jammed,

The owner took her back,

And had put her in the rack,

I found another trick,

And on the lock, I threw a brick,

And gave it a kick.

The door opened,

To rescue her, these things happened,

Carrying her, again I ran away,

And was again caught on my way,

Even then I managed to run,

This experience was fun,

For dinner, I gave her a bun.

We ate happily,

And slept peacefully,

The next day,

We were on our way,

Where she can be free,

To a huge old tree,

And finally, we had our last cup of tea.
