A Metamorphosis

He is in search of the best mentor to learn archery,

The former ones are failed to quench his endless query.

He ultimately finds the best archer who is in his sixties,

He is hopeful to learn the skill fast by rigorous training.

But was shocked to see how slow is the entire procedure,

The mentor is rude and arrogant with a new learner.

Without hitting the target only gazing at it is primary learning,

First month he practises how to hold arrow on bow string.

He is fumed, enraged for being unanswered constantly,

His mentor ignores his restlessness and guards him cautiously.

The strict stagnant training weakens his determination,

At home, his parents find him sad and disappointed

They counsel him brilliantly and make him understand,

'If want to have the best mentor, learn to tolerate his mood swings

Accept anger and praise shower on you as blessings.

If you leave the school, blaming the teacher for this decision,

You can never be an archer, as he is teaching value of patience,

Hitting the bull's-eye without fail, needs concentrated observation.'

He bows in reverence before the wise parents and skilled mentor,

Within a year he earns reputation as city's ablest archer.
