Demons

Sitting in a quiet room,

Waiting for the demons to conquer as they loom.

Staring at the empty walls,

Thinking back to all those unanswered calls.

A soul screams, bleeding through the veil,

A haunting cry which makes the skin turn frail.

Tears stream by and yet the sorrow never goes away,

Watching the anguish play,

Wishing for the joyful memories to stay,

Standing here so far from life’s Bay.

I’ve been crawling in my skin,

I’ve been dying in my heart,

I’ve been bleeding through my words,

I’ve been crushed by pain’s intricate art.

"Just don’t dwell on it you’ll be fine,

Stop with the stupid crying you swine.

It isn’t real, it’s all just in your head,

Darling, you’re not depressed you’re just sad."

No! No its not just in your head,

"I swear it’s all very real, I swear I’m not mad".

Enough! enough explaining yourself to people,

Enough of demeaning yourself, now for YOU, you unfurl.
