A Conspicuous Dare
A Conspicuous Dare
If only I could go back in time,
To the days where civilization's artistry was sublime,
Amidst the hazy cocoon of a canopy,
And over the blaze of the fireflies beyond what the eye could see,
To a time where maybe you and me,
Were free to just be.
Or perhaps go far into future,
Which hangs on a double-edged sword,
On one end lies disparity and doom,
On the other lies innovations and scientific bloom,
Into a transfixing glare of unreal reality,
Or in the solidarity of a being's chip-functioning memory,
Who knows what it could hold,
A long dark night
Or the stories of triumph untold?
Alas the past molds at this moment,
And the future in the next,
Colliding destinies of,
Victory and torment.
In now is the change,
Today is the flair,
Which will bring about a better tomorrow,
From a past spent in the tricky glare,
Indeed a conspicuous dare.
