What if … Siddhartha .....(aka the Buddha) became a king instead ??
We know that Prince Siddhartha of Kapilavastu became Buddha, the great saint, and founder of Buddhism. But, what if he became a king or emperor?
Firstly, Prince Siddhartha would perhaps have lived a comfortable life and died just like any other king. He would never have been enlightened nor experienced true bliss. Millions of his followers such as his harsh cousin Devadatta, would possibly have remained harsh, selfish, and violent throughout their lives.
Secondly, Buddhism would not have come into existence. Buddhism primarily taught "Ahimsa" (non-violence) to the world. Without Buddha and Buddhism, the world would have been less peaceful and less happy.
Thirdly and most importantly, people of the world would not have a way to find "internal happiness", a way to stay happy from within, not just happy externally with comforts, beautiful clothes, and delectable meals.
