Warmth - An Emotion
Warmth - An Emotion
Engulfing the sunlight, the sky gave birth to chilly winds, muffled voices, rosy cheeks,co and darker days – yearning for the sensation of warmth, all you want to do is squeeze yourself under a beautifully knitted, thick quilt. But I believe warmth goes beyond all of this.
To me, it is an emotion; it is the warmth of your cat on your lap or pouring freshly brewed tea for your family on a Sunday morning or eagerly waiting for your favorite chef-father to cook the famous, soul-nourishing poha. Warmth is sitting with your mother listening to her work stories, her jokes (that lack a great sense of humor), her animals, her plants, and more so ever, seeing her lovable, chirpy self.
Warmth is waking up to your grandmother's dramatic Indian serial dialogues or seeing your grandfather's forwarded scenic pictures on WhatsApp.
Warmth is waking up, holding your younger sister’s hand, then screaming, and waking her up, the next minute. It is arguing about who would use the washroom first or make the bed, hence, religiously following the Sunday morning ritual.
Warmth has elements of security and comfort, hence, you would hold your parent’s hand even at the age of 21 to cross the road.
Warmth is family.
