"Abhishek, where are you?" Abhishek's mother called him from the kitchen.

Coming Maa, he replied from the study room.

What are you doing in your room dear? You should be in the living room with the guests.

Maa, you know na I don't like social gathering.

I understand beta, but they here to celebrate your success. Now help me serving the refreshments to the guests.

He started serving the cold drinks to the guests.

"Abhishek, you have really made your parents and our city proud by being the state topper, Mrs Gupta praised taking a glass of drink from the tray.

"It's the flower of the hard work and the sacrifices of his parents as well." The eldest one said.

"You forgot to mention your blessings kaki, " his mother replied modestly offering the snacks.

You are such a kind soul, you never take the credit dear. So Abhishek, what is your plan ahead?

He will be flying to Delhi next week for the admission formalities in IIT Delhi.

That's great! Best of luck for your future dear!

Thank you kaki, he replied and left the room.

The mention of, "IIT" made him feel uncomfortable. Because of the proper guidance from his parents and teachers and his continuous hard work, he had managed to top the exam. But he didn't want to make his career in engineering. He knew his true calling was to become a 'writer'. Writing was something which had always fascinated him. He would often dream to write a book. He had written some short stories and poems as well but never had the courage to show it to his parents. He thought to talk about it with his mother but then postponed it seeing her jovial mood. Time passed but he could not gather the courage to talk to her mother and half-heartedly he started his IIT journey. But the good thing was that away from home he had more time to exercise his writing freely. He had started writing every day and uploaded his writings on social media frequently. The responses he got from the readers was overwhelming and their encouraging feedback helped him to bring out his best. By the end of the second year, he was getting restless for not working on his dream book. He had understood that "A dream delayed is success denied." Without informing his parents he started working on his book. And by the end of his graduation, he managed to publish his book successfully.
