It's Never Too Late

I have often heard and read that if you don't follow your passion, you will die every single day. A few days ago, I met an old man who had lived a number of years suffering the pain of not following his passion.

It was a cold winter morning. The sun was yet to come out. The temperature was around 8 degrees. I had gone to attend a workshop. It was basically about the crucial role that social media plays for the writers to reach out to the readers. The workshop was conducted by a young super talented author. There were around 15-20 attendees for the workshop. But I was amazed to see an old man there. He must be in his seventies. I was wondering, what brought him there in a chilly winter morning. What motivated him to climb up to the fourth-floor because unfortunately, the lift was not working. I thought he must be an author of at least 5-6 books and was there to learn new ideas to increase his sales.

Nevertheless, the workshop started and it started with an introduction. I was eagerly waiting for his turn, to know his story. His turn came after mine. He told that he always wanted to become a writer. But, since he was good at studies so his parents made him pursue medical and he ended up being a doctor. But somewhere deep inside he always felt the pinch of not following his passion. And this had left a void in his life. After retiring from his profession as a doctor, he finally decided to follow his passion. And after a lot of hard work, he had managed to fulfil his dream by writing and publishing his book.

The way he shared his story was an epitome of what we say, "It's never too late to start."
