Witchcraft is the practice of magic especially black magic while a witch is a woman thought to have magic powers, especially evil ones, popularly depicted as wearing a black cloak and pointed hat and flying on a broomstick.

Every year children, women, old women, or old men are killed, brutalize, or abandoned because of the claim that they witches or wizards. The rate of this unlawful killing and brutality of these people is very high in African countries. Women and children living homeless on the streets and isolated in many countries had been driven out by families or communities because they were suspected of being witches.

But increasingly children suspected of witchcraft -- usually on the basis of vague accusations -- were being killed because their parents feared they would have to take them back if the authorities identified them.

On 7th July 2020, 90-year-old Akua Denteh was accused of witchcraft by a fetish priest and the community in Ghana. She was tortured for an hour which leads to her death. Old people are normally accused of being the cause of the predicament of the family most at times by their children, grandchildren, or family because their pastor or priest claim they are witches and wizards. These victims are either brutalize or abandoned by their families to fend for themselves.

The question here is "is it a crime to become old? "

Yes, witchcraft is real but that doesn't give us the audacity to claim their life or torture them.

Most people believe their pastors to an extent that they are capable of doing anything their pastors say even if it means claiming the life or abandoning their own mother.

But we seem to forget something, this is the same woman who carried you in her womb for nine months and even stand in between death and life when she was carrying you in her womb. Took care of you and made you who you are today.

Have you asked yourself this question "if she was a witch as the pastor says, why then didn't she killed you when she found out she was pregnant or when she gave birth to you? "

Do these old woman deserve these hardships from us?

Is it a crime that they gave you life?

If she is a witch, why don't you tell your pastor or priest to cast out the demons out of her?

Let's put a stop to these brutalizing of these people.
