Rape is an unlawful sexual activity typically involving sexual intercourse done forcibly or under threat of injury against a person’s will. Rape is a global problem.

It is estimated that approximately 35% of women worldwide have experienced sexual harassment in their lifetime. In most countries with data available on rape, less than 40% of women who experience sexual violence seek help. Less than 10% seek assistance from law enforcement.

Because many women who experience sexual violence seldom report or come forward about their incidences, exact rape numbers are challenging to report.

Every year over 50% of women get raped by their relative, pastors, teachers, friends, or armed robbers but the cooperate end up being bailed out of jail or pay their way out. Most at times, the women are blamed for being the cause of being raped. So the question here is "Is it the fault of the women being raped? "

Most women find it difficult to open up because of societal critism , being threatened by the rapist but those who got the courage to open-end up not getting justice and criticism by society. Most of them have experience continuous sexual assault from childhood but are scared of opening up. Sexual assault is a big deal especially in high school, universities, and working places and they tend to face hidden health effects both emotional and physical for years to come. Most victims face

  •  depression
  • anxiety,
  • infertility
  • post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

Rape is treated like any other crime. The victims might have gone to the police the faithful night or day covered in bruises and DNA evidence but chose to hide due to all these societal criticisms and the threat from the rapist. Their silence has cost them dearly.

All these monsters are left to roam freely in the environment due to his money or his societal status. Rape can have psychological, emotional, and physical effects on a survivor. These effects aren’t always easy to deal with but with the right help and support, they can be managed.

It's high time we all come together and fight against this issue and bring all these rapist to justice.

LET'S SAY NO TO RAPE
