It was raining heavily. Blair woke up from her sleep with a start. “How strange!” Blair said as she woke up. “In the season of winter, how can it rain so heavily?” When she heard the sweet tune of a violin. She felt a bit unusual. When she heard it properly, she realized that it was coming from the next bedroom, which belonged to her brother. She slowly peeped in the room. She saw a red balloon hung on the wall. It scared Blair very much. When she stepped into the room, she started hearing footsteps. The lightning was so fierce that it had scared Blair into fits. “Out! Out you go! Or else…. you will not be able to move from here……” Blair heard a soft male voice right in her ear. She screamed. “AAAAAAAH! A GHOST!! HELP ME, SOMEONE!” She thought it was the ghost which she had heard of when she was a child. It lived on a haunted hill! But she thought that they were just fake ghost stories. When someone held her hand, and the lights went on. “Scared you again, sister! It’s easy to trick you!” She heard a voice. “Adam!” Blair shouted at her younger brother, who was now rolling on the floor, laughing. As Blair’s telephone rang, she scurried downstairs to see who it was. “Hello, I am Blair Anderson speaking.” She said. But whatever she heard on the phone, was complete silence. Then, “Blair! How good that you’re there! I need some help from you...” It was Blair’s boss, Mr. Frankenstein. “What help, sir? I’m free today so I can help.” The boss said, “I have a very important meeting today, so I cannot stay home. I also have to take my little son and my wife with me... so, will you please take care of my house till I come? You can do your work there, as well.” “Sure, sir! I’m happy to help.” Said Blair, as she hung the phone up. She told her brother to take care of their Dog, Heidi, and their parents. On the way to Mr. Frankenstein’s house, Blair saw a woman all dressed in black in the middle of the road. “Do you need any help, Ma’am?” Blair said. The lady said in a rough voice, “Nothing…” Blair found it strange. “Then, will you please give my car aside so that I can go further and you will not get hurt by my car, as well?” The woman said nothing. She ignored Blair and stood there. Blair had to take a long cut because of the woman. When she reached her boss’s house, she called him to inform him that she had reached there. Mr. Frankenstein’s house was very huge and beautiful. She opened the main door as it creaked. She turned the lights on when she realized she had some work to do. She quickly opened her bag. Fortunately, she had brought her office work with her. She looked around to search for a place for her to sit. She saw an old, wooden spooky-looking box with a horror face carved on it. It was in the living room, which was kept safely in a corner. But she didn’t mind. She sat on a desk when…. the lights went off. Blair first got scared, but then she started searching for a torch in the silent and complete darkness. When she didn’t get a torch, she called her boss. He said, “Go in my basement. There, you will see a wooden box with a spooky face carved on it. In the box, there is a torch. It is the only torch in my house, and it emits red light.” By saying this, the boss cut the phone. “Hmm….” Blair thought. “The boss was talking about the…” She looked at the corner where the box which the boss was talking about was kept. “Huh? Where is it? I saw it right here!” Blair said. “Boss was talking about the box in the basement, but I saw it right here a few minutes ago!” She wondered. She set off to the basement. She saw the same box which was kept in the living room. Now Blair was really worried. She gently opened the box. As she opened it, “EWW! AAH! WHAT IS THIS!?????????????????” She was shocked. An extremely blood-red sticky liquid had got all over her hand. As she searched for the torch, it too was covered with the same liquid in the box. Her heart started racing very fast. But she tried to calm herself down.” She went upstairs. As she took a step forward in the living room, the lights switched on. She was so relieved. “HAAH!” She sighed. She spotted a very, very haunted-looking statue which was not there when she entered there for the first time. Now, she was really scared, for the statue was staring at her with big red eyes. She called her boss again. “The statue in the living room…” She said to her boss. “Is it new? I’m really scared as it’s just looking at me with fierce eyes.” A chill ran down her body. “Blair?!” The boss replied. “Y-Y-YESS SIR?” Blair gulped as she felt that she was breathing frozen air. The boss shouted on the phone, “Blair, I don't have any statue in my house. If you don’t run out of my house, I will have to call the police.” There was complete silence, again. Blair cut the phone as she dropped her mobile in disbelief. She stammered, “H-H-HEEEELLLLP M-M-M-ME-E-E!” As she looked back at the statue. It ran at her and pounced at her. It groaned, and Blair screamed. The thunderstorm stopped. Blair was there, on the ground, unconscious…
